Evelyn Taylor, surviving spouse of the Rev. Alva W. Taylor, died August 12. Private funeral services for the family were held at Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home followed by burial at Mansfield Memorial Park. Thelma Hawkins, surviving spouse of the Rev. Richard E. Hawkins, died December 1. A private family service was held at Woodlawn UMC on December 29, 2020. A public Celebration of Life will be planned when gathering is safe. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. W. Paul Brown.

We conduct worship each first day of the week where we partake of the lord’s supper, and we lay by in store. We also perform acapella singing, and offer prayers and supplications, as well as preaching and teaching. We promote “in home” bible studies, as well as wonderful family events such as monthly “potlucks” and “family fests” We also have a Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening bible study.

She is survived by children Sheryl Blair, Lisa Cunningham, and Lynne Ellis; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Gillis was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Phillip Gillis. Rev. Klempnauer is survived by his wife Nan, daughter Amie Miller, daughter Stace Keane, step-son Christopher Yeoman, step-daughter Brittany Haske, and four grandchildren. William F. Brion, spouse of the Rev. Jerrie Bell-Brion, died October 11. A service was held October 18, 2019 at the Sulphur Grove UMC in Huber Heights, OH. Interment followed at the Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors. Rev. Newland is survived by wife Irma, son Wesley Newland, son Timothy Newland, son Todd Newland, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth Burge, surviving spouse of the Rev. Donald Burge, died March 18.

Taylor served Nova/Ruggles, Milan, Dover, Bay, Maple Heights, Painesville, and Elyria First United Methodist Churches before retiring from the East Ohio Conference in 1985.
